The Telegraph, Sports Newspaper of the Year, as awarded by the recent The British Sports Journalism Awards, has announced its editorial line-up for this year’s Ashes series including former Australia men’s national coach and opening batsman Justin Langer, and England fast bowler James Anderson.

Coverage will be led by chief cricket correspondent Nick Hoult, chief sports writer Oliver Brown, supported by deputy cricket correspondent Tim Wigmore and cricket news correspondent Will Macpherson.

The Telegraph’s sports team will also be joined by former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan and Sir Geoffrey Boycott, both former Ashes winners. Sir Geoffrey will be providing exclusive audio updates to The Telegraph’s dedicated liveblog during every day of play, added the publisher.

The Telegraph says there will be in-depth coverage, live reporting of every ball and analysis from the Telegraph’s team. Subscribers will have 24/7 access to their insights on telegraph.co.uk, via the Telegraph app, in print, via dedicated pre- and post- match newsletters and on social media.

This year key strands of coverage, such as the second season of the agenda-setting Vaughany and Tuffers Cricket Club podcast, featuring past and present players, as well as the daily cricket newsletter, will be sponsored by the online trading company IG, an official partner of England Cricket.

Gary Payne, head of sport, The Telegraph said: “All those looking for the best ball-by-ball coverage of the men’s Ashes need look no further. We will be providing unrivalled coverage across our platforms with invaluable insight from our experts and outstanding guest columnists alongside our brilliant podcast ‘The Vaughany and Tuffers Cricket Club.”
