News International and Haymarket Media Group received 6 nominations; The Economist has received 5 nominations; and Incisive Media, Hachette Filipacchi, Dennis Publishing and Future Publishing have all been nominated 4 times.

Lee Baker (pictured), Director, AOP, “I’m thrilled with this year’s shortlist. The fact that we’ve received so many entries for 2011 - with entries up 25% on last year - confirms that the digital publishing industry is back on its feet. Our judges had a formidable task in selecting our nominees, and I believe that the calibre of this year’s shortlist is remarkably strong and reflects the breadth of endeavour. The AOP Digital Publishing Awards are designed to recognise, showcase and reward those businesses that have made a difference to our industry – and we look forward to welcoming them all to the Roundhouse, Camden in June”.

AOP introduced two new categories this year for Ad Operations Team and Product Team, to recognise the crucial role played by these departments driving digital publishers’ businesses forward.

Eight publishers have been shortlisted for the Ad Operations Team, in association with AdMonsters, category: Bauer Media, Channel 5, Guardian News & Media, News International, Specific Media, Telegraph Media Group, Trader Media Group and Vibrant Media.

Seven publishers made it onto the shortlist for Product Team: Bauer Media, CBS Interactive, Guardian News & Media, Haymarket, IPC Media, Reed Business Information and Trader Media.
