AOP relaunches website

The Association of Online Publishers (AOP) UK has relaunched its website. The site, redesigned by Red Snapper, will offer a much more streamlined user experience with improved navigation and usability.

The launch ties in with the revised logo in a single colour and simplified look.

Liz Somerville, Acting Director of AOP said, “We're delighted with the new-look AOP website (designed by Red Snapper). The principle aim of the redesigned site is to provide our members with a more dynamic, effective, and usable resource and we’ve delivered a much more intuitive, user-friendly site, since we have the most discerning audience to please – UK online publishers!"

“While there has been a lot of work on the ‘back-end’ which allows much more use of video, photographs and flexibility in how we display and tag our content, in reality our members should experience a quicker, simpler way of navigating to the parts of the site they need immediately."

Members can also contribute content by submitting news, press releases, research and case studies directly through the members’ area.” Liz concluded.

Key Features:

* Flexible and dynamic homepage

* A roll-over ‘viewing pane’ to highlight key events

* A bespoke eCommerce system which will allow members to book places for any AOP events and awards with a greater flexibility for payment options

* Improved “Topic Search” feature allows members to drill down by content by subject directly from the homepage

* Improved classification and tagging of all content allows “suggested” related articles, enabling associated subject press releases provided by members and case studies from supplier/associate members to be highlighted and flagged up throughout the site relevant to the item being looked at.

* The home page calendar is also customised to each registered user for added convenience, enabling them to view relevant meetings, add them directly to their outlook calendar, join LinkedIn discussions and explore other AOP activities

* The site will provide an improved member showcase area, browsable via the homepage, with dedicated 'content areas' in the showcase area for supplier/associate members

* Interactive polls will be a new -to be added shortly- feature of the site.
