Autosport - Haymarket's first Android app

Autosport has become the first Haymarket brand to launch an Android app.

Selling for £2.99, it offers Android smart phone users the chance to access Autosport.com content on the world’s fastest-growing mobile platform, in a user-friendly and efficient way.

The app’s homepage can be customised to deliver headline news from the user’s favoured race series, while live text commentary from all F1 race weekends and access to Autosport’s high-res image gallery is also available.

Subscribers to Autosport.com’s premium content service – plus – can view their paywalled content via the app.

Autosport digital product manager, Jim Foster, commented: “Autosport.com users have been asking us for months to introduce an Android app to the market, after the successful launch of our iPhone app in July 2010 – and given the huge increases in Android traffic to the website, that’s what we did.

“In February Autosport.com received more than six times more Android traffic than the same period last year and we anticipate that, in the not-too-distant future, it will become the number-one mobile platform for our users.”

The app is available to download now from the Android Market.
