FIPP launches free iPhone app

FIPP has launched an iPhone app at its Digital Conference in Berlin, Germany. The app has been designed to keep those interested in international magazine publishing up-to-date with the latest news, magazine launches, FIPP events and more.

Powered by new FIPP strategic sponsor Woodwing and sponsored by CIRCDATA, the app is available to download from the iTunes app store today, free of charge.

Announcing the launch of the app in his keynote speech at The third FIPP Digital Magazine Media Conference, the Digital Innovators’ Summit at the Deutsche Telekom Conference Center this morning, Aroon Purie, chairman and editor in chief, The India Today Group, and FIPP’s chairman, said: “I am pleased to announce the launch of the first ever FIPP newsreader application for the iPhone, powered by WoodWing. The application is available as free download from today, and if you have an iPhone, just search for “FIPP” in the iPhone app store.”

Hans Janssen, CEO of WoodWing said: “WoodWing is excited that FIPP has selected our iPhone newsreader service. It is a great way for FIPP to further intensify contact with the community of magazine publishers. At the same time, it offers FIPP and its associated companies a great channel for mobile advertising.”

James Ormiston, managing director of CIRCDATA said: "We sponsored FIPP's iPhone app because we believe passionately that the future for publishing lies in the adoption of new media channels and the exploitation of these new opportunities.  The iPhone app is fundamental to these ideals and something we think deserves support."
