First speakers announced for AOP Summit 2011

The Association of Online Publishers (AOP) is challenging publishers to maximise and leverage the value of their brands and content as it prepares to launch its flagship Digital Publishing Summit, with the theme “Publishers: Know Your Worth”.

The AOP Summit, a one-day event, will be held at Westminster Bridge Park Plaza, on 14 October 2011.

Lee Baker, Director of AOP says: “We are pulling together a world-class, speaker line-up for what promises to be the best ever AOP Summit.  Our speakers will give delegates exclusive insights into their businesses and experiences.  Ultimately, our goal is to galvanise the industry to recognise the value that publishers bring.”

First speakers for the AOP’s Digital Publishing Summit announced:

Fru Hazlitt, Managing Director, Commercial and Online at ITV.  Fru is responsible for broadcast revenues, multi-platform development and is leading the Total Value and Pay strategy processes across the ITV Group.  She has over 20 years of sales and marketing experience within the Media sector including roles at Virgin Radio, Yahoo!, The Guardian Media Group and Capital Radio.

Anna Settman, CEO of Aftonbladet, will be representing one of the biggest daily newspapers in the Nordic countries.  Founded in 1830, Aftonbladet was the first Swedish newspaper to go online in the mid-1990s and the first to charge for online content.  It now enjoys a growing online readership of 5 million unique visitors a week.

Justine Roberts, CEO and founder of Mumsnet, an online community of parents sharing advice, support and product recommendations.  Over the last ten years, Mumsnet has grown into the UK’s leading social network for mums with 1.35 million monthly unique visitors.  In 2010, Justine was named in the MediaGuardian 100 list as one of the “powerful people in the Media”.
