GNM appoints Content Sales and Marketing Director

Chris Lawson, former Brand Director of Absolute Radio is joining Guardian News & Media as the Content Sales and Marketing Director.

Adam Freeman, Director, of Consumer Media, GNM, said: "Chris will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the content sales and marketing team. He will be responsible for our brand focus, driving newspaper sales and developing digital audiences across all platforms.

Chris Lawson (pictured), said: "This is a fantastic opportunity. My past experience has been about engaging communities and using insight and digital understanding to change consumer behaviour. The Guardian is clearly a leader in this field and believes in engaging with as wide a community as possible. I am looking forward to driving this shared goal."

Lawson was previously Digital Marketing Director at Bauer across the lifestyle and specialist brands. He also managed magazine subscription and CRM activity.

Richard Furness, Head of Newspaper Sales & Marketing and Steve Wing, Head of Mobile and Digital Attraction will report directly to the Content Sales and Marketing Director.

Lawson is the fourth and final Director to be appointed to GNM's consumer management board, joining Andre McGarrigle, Customer Insight Director; Kate Morgan-Locke, Consumer Offers and Services Director and Chris Pelekanou, Advertisement Sales Director.
