Hollyoaks gets internship at Company magazine

Lime Pictures, producers’ of C4’s flagship teen soap Hollyoaks, have joined forces with young women’s fashion title, Company magazine, to highlight the “fantastic opportunities” available to youngsters hoping to land a career in fashion or the media.

In a special week of episodes, two Hollyoaks characters will land their dream internship at Company magazine as the Cheshire based soap heads to London…

The special storyline is a fictional strand for the long-running drama but remains close to reality as Company magazine Editor, Victoria White, stars. The magazine boss plays an exaggerated (and meaner) version of herself, while other Company magazine employees have been dramatized as characters and portrayed by actors.

Victoria appears as herself in the episodes and couldn’t have been more excited as her debut acting role took shape. “Company was thrilled to welcome our special interns into the fashion cupboard. And the chance to play myself in one of my favourite soaps was an opportunity I couldn't pass up - especially as I started my journalistic career on Inside Soap magazine and attended the launch of Hollyoaks!”

Series Producer Emma Smithwick comments, “Hollyoaks is always trying to find innovative and fresh ways to tell stories and Company magazine felt like an obvious brand for us to partner up with. Company, like Hollyoaks, celebrates youth culture and champions creativity through style and fashion. Reaching audiences on different levels is an important element for Hollyoaks and so doing something with Company seemed like a brilliant next step in merging fiction with reality.”

Hollyoaks airs Monday to Friday at 630pm on Channel 4, with omnibus on Sunday mornings on T4. The Company and Hollyoaks episodes will be aired from Monday 9th July until Friday 13th July.
