Interead launches new ereader

Interead has launched the COOL-ER, an ereader, and COOLERBOOKS.com, what it claims is the world’s largest online bookstore featuring more than 750,000 titles.

“This is the iPod moment for ereaders,” explained Neil Jones, Founder & CEO of Interead. “COOL-ER is designed—and priced—for people who love to read and share books, and this is the first ereader that people won’t be embarrassed to be seen with in public.”

COOL-ER is available now and works in every country on the planet. Books from COOLERBOOKS.com can be shared with up to five other readers to let friends and families share the works they love. Weighing in at only 6.3 ounces—less than a paperback and 40% lighter than Amazon’s Kindle 2— and costing only $249 (£189, €219), COOL-ER supports books in all of the most commonly used ebook formats (EPUB, TXT, JPEG, and PDF). COOL-ER is available in eight colors—red, blue, hot pink, violet, light pink, green, black and silver—and supports books written in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Russian, and Traditional & Simplified Chinese.

COOL-ER includes one gigabyte of storage for hundreds of books, and a Secure-Digital (SD) card slot for up to 4 gigabytes of additional storage. Readers can also listen to music and audio books on COOL-ER. COOL-ER’s rechargeable, removable battery lasts 8,000 page-turns, and can be recharged in approximately three hours.

COOL-ER’s E Ink Vizplex screen mimics a book page, making the text viewable at any angle, even in direct sunlight, without eye strain.
