Johnston Press appoints Alex Gubbay Head of Digital Content

Johnston Press plc has announced today the appointment of Alex Gubbay to the position of Head of Digital Content.

Alex (pictured) is currently Social Media Editor for BBC News where he has been responsible for leading the editorial integration of user-generated content and social media initiatives. Prior to that he was News Editor of the BBC’s sports website, where he was instrumental in the development of the BBC’s online sports coverage for a number of years.

Alex will be responsible for Johnston Press’s digital content strategy and will play a central role in the development of our news website platforms. He will take up his new position at Johnston Press in June.

Alex is a graduate in Economics and French from the University of Leeds, where he was also editor of the student newspaper.
