LexisNexis and Caselex marketing agreement

LexisNexis, a provider of information and workflow solutions, has announced an agreement building on its relationship with Caselex to enable cross promotion of each company’s respective offerings.

Through a reciprocal marketing arrangement with Caselex, LexisNexis EU Tracker will be able to showcase its resources through online marketing, conferences and journal promotions.

Nicky Briggs (pictured), Editorial and Publishing Director, LexisNexis, said: “We are delighted to work closely with Caselex to promote LexisNexis EU Tracker and Caselex. Cross-border activity within Europe grows year on year as new markets are opened up so it is increasingly important for lawyers to have access to comparative legislative and case information to track how European law is interpreted across the European Union.”

Stig Marthinsen, Managing Director, Caselex, said: “Caselex is pleased to collaborate with LexisNexis in supplying practical interpretations of the omnipresent EU law which takes precedence over national law. Inside foreign national courts, significant interpretations of EU law are offered through court decisions and an ability to locate these cases and interpret their importance is imperative. To lawyers Caselex and EU Tracker bring new opportunity and insight by allowing easy access to such practical legal knowledge from around Europe.”

Building on extensive European-wide content from LexisNexis in the UK, France, Germany, Austria and Poland to construct compelling comparative law offerings, LexisNexis’ unique EU Tracker is the market leading EU Directive tracking and analysis service, says LexisNexis.  A recent finalist for Online Product of the Year in the Legal Technology Awards 2009, it offers legal advisers monitoring and analysis of the implementation of EU Directives through legal updates and insight from a dedicated team of European legal experts. EU Tracker helps legal advisers and their clients grow their business, manage risk and save time and money. Caselex, with its extensive resource of cases on points of EU law from across the EU, provides legal advisers with precedent and analysis to complement the interpretation of EU legislation within the member states.

About Caselex

Caselex says: “Caselex s.a.r.l. (www.caselex.com) is an independent legal publisher which is the result of the venture established by Mr Stig Marthinsen and Mr Marc de Vries back in 2003. Its mission is to: serve as a premium information service for important case law by aggregating and adding significant value to international and national case law tailored to the needs of legal professionals, enriching their knowledge about solutions to legal issues in a highly engaging and productive service environment.

Due to the innovative nature of the venture and its high importance, the European Commission's eContent programme gave support to develop the pilot application in 2005-2006. Supported by a strong private-public alliance and with the support of Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), the European Company Lawyers Association (ECLA) and the European Association of Judges (EAJ), the venture developed a highly engaging pilot application that has been taken a step further to become the premium service offered on this site.

Caselex is in its initial deployment phase 2007-2009 still supported by the European Commission under its eTEN programme, CCBE, ECLA and EAJ.”
