Motors.co.uk launches app

Motors.co.uk, has become one of the UK's first online car advertising sites to launch a free iPhone and iPod touch application.

The new app draws on motors.co.uk's “huge and highly regarded” database of nearly 150,000 used cars for sale from car retailers and private sellers across the UK.

Easily identifiable with the motors.co.uk 'Big Blue Wheel' logo, the app has been specifically created to make searching for vehicles as simple as possible. It features motors.co.uk's "innovative" search system which allows buyers to search for their ideal make and model.

As with the motors.co.uk online portal, the app helps users find their ideal car by evaluating the vehicle against a list of chosen requirements. The application, called 'motors.co.uk car search' and available in the 'utilities' iStore category, will display details for up to 10 cars at once to enable users to compare vehicles as well as create a shortlist of their favourite cars.

The app can also be found and downloaded by searching for 'motors' as a keyword in the app store and look out for the famous motors.co.uk Big Blue Wheel.

The motors.co.uk app is the latest in a series of developments from the website to make the car buying process more convenient and accessible for buyers including the launch of a mobile site which enables users without an iPhone to search for their new car on the move via their mobile phone.

Katie Wardle, marketing manager at motors.co.uk, said: "We are constantly working to make it even easier for car buyers to search for their next vehicle and, with sales of the iPhone continuing to soar in the UK, the introduction of a dedicated app will provide an additional link between buyers and dealers.

"The app itself is extremely user friendly and, combined with our local and national search function, will ensure buyers are able to find exactly the car they want."

Motors.co.uk also have a mobile site, which gives those who do not have an iPhone the ability to search for a car while on the move. Users simply have to text "motors" to 65056 to receive a link to the website.
