Salt Lake Tribune goes live with DTI ContentPublisher

Digital Technology International has announced that The Salt Lake Tribune, a MediaNews Group property in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, is now live using DTI ContentPublisher for all its print, Web and mobile publishing.

DTI ContentPublisher allows The Salt Lake Tribune to create content once, and publish in real-time to multiple channels without interfacing to third-party systems.

"We think of Web and print together, rather than as separate departments,” said Tim Fitzpatrick, deputy editor, The Salt Lake Tribune. “We needed to make the entire newsroom Web staff too. This is a reflection of modern realities for newsrooms and DTI ContentPublisher gave us the key element in the integration.

“The Salt Lake Tribune editors and reporters needed the ability to create, collaborate, manage and simultaneously produce stories and images for print and the Web whilst maintaining complete control over their content and its presentation.

"We wanted our editors and reporters to be able to fix their own errors, if any, and manage their own sections. This integration is vital to turning the Website over to the newsroom," said Fitzpatrick.  "Reducing our Web staff and allowing our people to make changes to their own sections were important issues for us, and DTI ContentPublisher enables it all to work."

Dan Paulus, DTI, vice president, sales, the Americas, said, "The Salt Lake Tribune is now able to serve print and digital out of a single, high-performance database-something it wanted to do. They are now able to streamline workflows, consolidate resources and most important, they can be agile to adapt to changing conditions on the fly. That is really important in today's economy."
