Standard on NY streets for Boris visit

Copies of the Evening Standard were on the streets of New York City last week as Newsworld Corporation produced the newspaper in conjunction with its partner AlphaGraphics, as part of Visit London’s ‘Only in London’ campaign.

Among the recipients of the special promotional edition was Mayor of London Boris Johnson (pictured in the middle, along with David Renouf, left, and Tim Taylor of Screen Europe, right).

The first 3,000 copies arrived in Times Square, NYC, at 1.45 pm on Tuesday 15th September, incorporating both London news and locally targeted editorial and advertising.

Newsworld’s David Renouf says: “Whilst Mr Johnson has been putting London on the map, so to speak, we have been able to give New York residents a sample of London media.

“Our partnership with AlphaGraphics goes from strength to strength as new titles come on stream, and our investment in a Screen Truepress Jet520 On-Demand Newsprint Solution continues to attract high levels of interest from newspaper publishers.”
