The Times launches subscription legal service

The Times is building on its legal coverage by launching a premium service to accompany its email bulletin, The Brief.

The Brief Premium will provide the latest intelligence for the legal community with daily news, practice area investigations, podcasts and exclusive access to industry leaders.

Led by Frances Gibb and Jonathan Ames, The Times’s expert legal journalists, The Brief Premium will contextualise how legal developments sit in the wider political and business arena, from trade law to home security and gender equality to the gig economy. Subscribers will also receive detailed analysis and reviews on major cases from guest writers including leading QCs, MPs and members of the House of Lords.

A mix of high profile events, round tables, closed networking groups and online forums, will allow subscribers direct access to those shaping the direction of the legal profession. Subscriber-only discounts on exclusive market reports, legal intelligence and data will also allow readers to stay abreast of future trends, says The Times.

John Witherow, Editor of The Times said: “The Brief Premium shows how The Times continues to innovate and develop new products to match the interests of our readers. The new service will give subscribers access to expert commentary, leading legal minds and contributors from across the legal profession.”

Frances Gibb, co-editor, The Brief said: “Lawyers are busy people. The Brief Premium will keep them on top of the latest news, views and gossip across the industry – including in-depth reports in their fields of interest.”

The Brief Premium is available on a 14-day free trial, with the service costing £4 per week thereafter. For existing subscribers of the The Times and The Sunday Times, the Brief Premium can be added to their subscription for an additional £1 per week.

Corporate subscriptions are available for organisations to purchase multi-seat licences to The Brief Premium and The Times and The Sunday Times digital bundle subscription.
