Kerridge will contribute recipes twice a month, launching this Sunday with mouth-watering versions of British classics from his debut London restaurant, plus an exclusive interview, say the publishers.

Kerridge is known for his indulgent yet honest takes on British-led food. He opened the Hand and Flowers in 2005, and it is the first pub to hold two Michelin stars. Since then he has presented numerous TV food shows, including BBC Two’s Lose Weight For Good, and he is also the author of five best-selling cookbooks.

Tom Kerridge, said: “I am hugely honoured to be the new columnist for The Sunday Times Magazine. I’m very much looking forward to putting together some great tasting recipes with beautiful photographs by David Loftus, recipes that everybody can have a go at doing in their own kitchens."

Lisa Markwell, food editor of The Sunday Times, said: "Tom Kerridge is one of Britain's best loved chefs for good reason - he's got awards galore thanks to the amazing food at his restaurants, but also has bags of charisma and a genuine connection to home cooks. I am thrilled that he is joining The Sunday Times Magazine as our chef, just when he's opening a new restaurant in London, Kerridge’s Bar & Grill - and the first recipes are, of course, irresistible."
