Wanted: Media Leaders for 2011 Development Program

WAN-IFRA, the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, and the CBS-SIMI business school in Copenhagen are inviting applications for the 2011 Leaders Media & Newspaper Executive Development Program.

More than 250 senior executives from 100 leading newspaper companies in Europe, the United States and Asia have participated in the Leaders Program since its inception in 2000, obtaining a diploma recognized by the industry and based on executive MBA criteria. The goal of the programme is to prepare mid-level managers in editorial, advertising, marketing, production, finance and electronic media to move up to senior management positions.

Internationally known faculty from business schools worldwide teach in the Leaders program, including:

• James Teboul, Senior Affiliate Professor of Operations Management, INSEAD, France;

• Paul Wang, Associate Professor in the Integrated Marketing Communications program at the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University, USA;

• Sandra Sieber, Professor of Information Systems and Information Technology, IESE Business School, Spain;

• André Wierdsma, Professor Organizing and Co-Creating; Program Director Advanced Management Program, Nyenrode Business Universiteit, The Netherlands;

• and Roger Hallowell, Affiliated Professor of Strategy, HEC School of Management, France.

Leaders 2011 provides a unique combination, says WAN-IFRA, of high academic level and specific industry knowledge designed to increase management competences. Participants work on specific, practical projects from their companies during the course; a lot of innovation around the newspaper industry originated during the Leaders program.

Participants will attend three thematic sessions, spread over 5 months:

Module I: Business Environment and Strategy, 26 - 29 September 2011 Module II: Business System Design, 21 - 24 November 2011 Module III: Change Management and Industry Issues, 22 - 26 January 2012
