Rob Stokes has been appointed Editor of the Western Daily Press. Rob replaces Ian Mean, who is retiring on March 6.

Rob has been a journalist for 35 years – the vast majority of which has been spent in the Western Daily Press circulation area. He has been Deputy Editor of the Bristol Post since 2006 and previously worked as the paper’s Investigations Editor and News Editor.

The Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Dorset region Publisher Sarah Pullen said: “I am delighted to give Rob this opportunity. He knows the Western Daily Press and its patch very well. Rob has some great plans for its development, both in print and online.”

Rob takes up his new role on Monday, March 9.
