Autocar launches Facebook fan page

Autocar has launched a Facebook fan page – and, says the publisher, you can show your support for Britain’s original car weekly by signing up at www.autocar.co.uk/facebook.

It was formally launched last week, but the fan page has already attracted more than 1500 followers through word-of-mouth recommendations.

Coverage so far has included the most expensive car insurance claim ever, a road test of the Audi R8 Spyder and a sneak look at a hot new AMG Mercedes saloon.

Fans from India currently lead the way, outweighing UK fans two to one. There’s also a strong following from the Czech Republic, Turkey and Lithuania.

“Our Facebook page gives us another opportunity to spread Autocar’s reach, building on the success of www.autocar.co.uk and the hugely successful www.youtube.com/autocar video channel, which bring in comfortably in excess of 1.5 million hits a week,” said Jim Holder, Autocar’s deputy editor (online).

Fans are urged to check back to the page daily for car news, reviews, pictures and videos.
