Europe Express: Henry Foy becomes lead writer
Roula Khalaf: “Henry is a smart, authoritative voice for the FT on European affairs and the war in Ukraine. I’m delighted that he will be leading Europe Express this year.”

The Financial Times says that Foy will continue to serve as the FT’s European diplomatic correspondent, based in Brussels. He reports on the EU's foreign policy, relations between Brussels and other world powers, and the diplomatic intrigues between member states. Previously he was Moscow bureau chief, where he interviewed Vladimir Putin and charted his regime's descent into repression. Foy has also been posted in Warsaw and London since joining the FT in 2013 from Reuters.

Also contributing to Europe Express is a cast of correspondents from the FT’s Europe network.

FT editor Roula Khalaf said: “Henry is a smart, authoritative voice for the FT on European affairs and the war in Ukraine. I’m delighted that he will be leading Europe Express this year.”

Henry Foy said: "I am thrilled to be taking charge of Europe Express at this critical time for politics in Europe, as the continent wrestles with the myriad impacts of Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine, which will reshape the EU, Nato and national politics for decades to come. This must-read newsletter will continue to provide unparalleled coverage of Europe to our subscribers, from exclusive news that sets the agenda to sharp and original analysis explaining the trends transforming the continent."

Europe Express delivers the news that is driving the European agenda every weekday morning at 7am and Saturdays at noon CET, offering readers insight, charts and analysis on developments from Brussels, as well as Paris, Berlin, Rome, Athens and other capitals, says the publisher.

The FT’s 40-strong editorial network covers Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, BeneLux, the Nordics and Eastern Europe.
