Evening Standard promotes Karen Dacre to Fashion Editor

The Evening Standard has appointed its fashion writer Karen Dacre to become Fashion Editor when Laura Craik leaves the title next month.

Karen (pictured) will write on fashion and style across the Evening Standard working closely with Executive Features Editor Charlotte Ross and other editorial executives.

Karen has covered ready-to-wear shows in London, Milan and Paris for the Evening Standard, and has been a contributor to the weekly Fashion, Sex & Style and Trends sections. Her recent work also included reports from couture shows in Paris and Sarah Burton's first show as creative director for Alexander McQueen.

Karen has worked with Laura Craik in the Evening Standard's fashion department for seven years, and stood in for Laura during her maternity leave last year. Karen read English at the University of Edinburgh and then completed a Masters in Fashion Journalism at the London College of Fashion.
