The Federation of Independent Retailers (the Fed) says as a result of the changes, Adrian Page, Brian Murphy and Phil Jaggard are seconded to three new director roles and will work with the Fed’s national senior officials to deliver the organisation’s objectives.

Under the move:

  • Mr Page becomes business and engagement director, with responsibility for the business development, communications, marketing and political engagement departments.
  • Mr Murphy becomes news and operations director, with responsibility for news operations and technology departments, the Contact Centre, the CRM and external consultants and services.
  • Mr Jaggard becomes member and development director, with responsibility for the field operations and membership services Membership Services and Events.

The changes were discussed and agreed at the November meeting of the Fed’s Executive Council.

National President Muntazir Dipoti said: “It is important that the Fed evolves so it remains relevant and can fully represent independent retailers in these challenging times. I look forward to working with Aidi, Brian and Phil to grow as a business and continue to help members make money, save money and make business easier.”

Mr Page said: “It’s great to see members’ continued appetite for change following their own restructure earlier this year and I’m very pleased to be part of this new senior management team. The passion our members, colleagues and suppliers all have for the Fed is fantastic and, with their continued support, I’m looking forward to what we can deliver together in 2024 and beyond.”

Mr Murphy said: "This is a positive and exciting juncture for the Federation as it continues to evolve and modernise at a pace. It will ensure that the Federation’s strong news heritage continues and its unique and growing number of services and benefits to members are enhanced and maximised.”

Mr Jaggard said: “I am really pleased that members have put their faith in an organisation change to support the future of the Fed. I am excited to get stuck into my new role and fully understand how we as a team can pull together, support each other, work collaboratively, and help drive the federation in a forward positive direction.”
