Freedom Communications migrates into the Cloud

Digital Technology International has announced that the newspaper division of Freedom Communications is migrating it’s DTI circulation management and marketing solution to DTI Cloud, DTI’s cloud computing hosted SaaS (software as a service) environment.

At the same time the publisher is upgrading the software to the latest release, DTI Circulation 3.5.

With a combined portfolio of more than 100 daily and weekly newspapers, as well as shoppers, magazines and other specialty publications, Freedom's network of community newspapers are the heart of the company's business, and their circulation and distribution has been successfully managed by DTI’s software since 2004.

Lee Knapp, VP Operations Newspapers, Freedom Communications said: “The DTI software automates and manages our circulation workflow, allows us to use sales history to optimize single copy sales and leverage audience data to build successful marketing campaigns. We already outsource many of our IT functions, and by now using DTI’s hosted circulation solution we will save money and reduce our internal need for technical resources.”

As well as managing the group’s entire end-to-end circulation operation, DTI Circulation enables the use of lifestyle demographics to build a successful direct mail business, create targeted marketing campaigns that attract new subscribers, win back former customers, and promote new offers to existing subscribers.

Dan Paulus, VP of sales, DTI, states: “There is a paradigm shift in the newspaper industry in the United States and elsewhere. Publishers are beginning to realize the many benefits of outsourcing their mission-critical technology to DTI Cloud – and we have experts on-hand 24/7 to help them achieve their technology-based business goals and to quickly enjoy the many advantages of cloud computing, which include financial savings partly due to the economies of scale.”

More than a thousand newspapers around the world use DTI Circulation software, says DTI.
