Haymarket and British Olympic Association launch Vancouver site

When the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics begin this weekend, fans will be able to follow the fortunes of Team GB via a new website designed and built by Haymarket Network.

The site is the latest partnership between Haymarket and the British Olympic Association (BOA). Their close relationship, which stretches back to 2006, has seen the creation of a suite of online offerings, most notably the BOA’s main site and competition microsites under the TeamGB.com banner.

Visitors to the Vancouver site – at vancouver2010.teamgb.com – will be able to get the latest news, read athlete profiles and keep up-to-date on event schedules. They will also be able to send messages of support to the athletes, watch the latest video diaries and read blogs from the British athletes and support staff in Canada.

The site incorporates the ‘Best of British Luck’ campaign, a theme that is present across all the BOA’s activities for the Winter Games, and which will be used in the Athletes’ Village to make them feel at home.

Jess Hurford, the BOA’s director of corporate partnerships said: “The British Olympic Association is excited to have launched the Team GB Vancouver 2010 website and be able to offer supporters and media an attractive and functional website which enables them to follow Team GB’s progress in Vancouver.

“Haymarket and the BOA have had a successful and long standing relationship and we would like to thank them for their hard work on this project.”

The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics run from February 12 to 28.
