Prima launch issue goes online!

To celebrate 25 years in print, Prima magazine has made their first ever issue available digitally as an online issue, complete with fashion spreads, knitting patterns and diet tips from October 1986, when the title first launched.

Prima is the first title from Hearst Magazines UK to upload their first ever issue in full for their readers.  It can be viewed via www.facebook.com/primamagazine or at http://bit.ly/o5DN2t.

Within a year of its launch in 1986, Prima magazine became the UK’s biggest monthly title, selling a million copies a month.  Now, says Hearst, in its 25th year, Prima’s loyal subscriber base is at its highest ever level, with the brand posting its 9th consecutive increase in sales, with a year-on-year increase in subscriptions of 4.2%.

Maire Fahey, Editor, Prima, says: “Uploading the first issue of Prima not only celebrates the title still going strong after a quarter of a century, but also lets us see how women’s lives have changed over the years.  It’s an exercise in nostalgia, to think that a large portion of the editorial was given over to knitting, crafts and readers making their own clothes!  Now, of course, the magazine has changed dramatically, but the heritage of the brand lends us a real voice of authority on the lives of hundreds of thousands of women across the UK who read every month.”

Prima’s Jubilee October 2011 issue, on sale now.
