Princess Anne opens Birmingham Mail’s Fort Dunlop

The Princess Royal made a special visit to formally open the Birmingham Mail’s new offices at Fort Dunlop and made front page news in the bargain.

Princess Anne toured the premises before unveiling a plaque to mark the occasion.

BPM Media moved to the iconic Fort Dunlop building on Fort Parkway last year.

The Princess Royal received a posy from Birmingham Mail Local Hero Callum Batham, ten, who saved his dad Lee’s life following a seizure despite only having one first aid lesson.

Her Royal Highness received a copy of Tuesday's Birmingham Mail featuring her visit.

Birmingham Mail editor Steve Dyson said: "Our newspapers play a crucial part in this city, keeping readers up to date, fighting battles on their behalf and helping bind together our cosmopolitan population.”

"It is therefore fitting that the Princess Royal felt our work important enough to come and see and hear about what we do and formally unveil our new headquarters."
