Wired app goes monthly

Wired goes monthly as an iPad app with the May issue, available to download now from the App Store, priced £2.39.

The Wired in-house team has been working closely with Adobe to develop this app on their platform. Responding to user feedback on the first Wired app (December 2010 issue) there is improved navigation and enhanced multimedia, and, says Conde Nast, the Wired app will continue to evolve as the software and the market develops.

The app includes exclusive iPad-only content, including: video of biometric robot penguins, a miniature 3D printer at work, exclusive in-game clips from “Uncharted 3”, a Lego computer, animated infographics, photo slideshows.

Feature stories include the 120-million-member social-network built on hook-ups; plus why failure is the future of business – by Biz Stone, Jimmy Wales and Alan Sugar.

Also in the May issue:

• Save the world — eat insects

• Nasa’s next mission: control superbugs

• The drug warlords’ jungle-built, Kevlar-coated, coke-smuggling submarine

• How to turn art into data

• Ideas Bank, a new section for smart writing
