World Newspaper Congress, Editors Forum Linked with 2011 IFRA Expo

Following the success of the World Editors Forum, held with the IFRA Expo in Hamburg in October, the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) has decided to hold both the Editors Forum and the World Newspaper Congress alongside the Expo in Vienna in 2011.

The Congress, Editors Forum and Info Services Expo 2011, the global meetings of the world's press, will be held from 12 to 15 October 2011 at the Reed Messe Vienne, following the Expo  the largest global trade exhibition for the news publishing and media industry from 10 to 12 October.

"The World Newspaper Congress and the IFRA Expo are the largest international gatherings of the worldwide news publishing industries. Both the Congress and the Editors Forum will be enhanced by their promixity to the Expo: bringing them together in the same venue creates one mega-event, where publishers and other senior executives can meet and exchange a wide variety of strategies and information in one convenient location," said Christoph Riess, CEO of WAN-IFRA.

The evolving Congress and Editors Forum programme and other information will be posted at http://www.wan-ifra.org/vienna2011/. Participants can register now to secure their place.

According to WAN-IFRA, the World Editors Forum drew a record attendance of more than 600 chief editors and other senior newsroom personnel from more than 86 countries this year. More than 1,200 publishers, chief editors, managing directors, CEOs and other senior executives are expected to attend the Congress and Editors Forum in Vienna.

Vienna, says WAN-IFRA, is an ideal venue for the annual meetings of the world’s press. With its imperial charm, classic architecture and modern lifestyle, Vienna is one of the world's most historic and attractive cities, and boasts a conference infrastructure of the highest standards. The events will be hosted by the Austrian Newspaper Association VÖZ.
